In a small bowl, stir together the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes if using active dry yeast.
In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine 4 cups of flour and the salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and 2 tablespoons of the melted butter. Mix until a dough forms, adding up to 1/2 cup more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400F. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each into a 7-inch stick. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Cover and let rise for another 15 minutes.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
Combine the remaining melted butter with garlic salt and dried parsley. Brush generously over the warm baked sticks before serving.
