Preheat the oven to 375F (190C) and lightly grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chicken pieces until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
Steam the broccoli florets for 3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Drain well and add to the baking dish with the chicken.
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together the cream cheese, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and bubbling.
Remove the sauce from heat and stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the chicken and broccoli in the baking dish. Toss gently to combine.
Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
