  • 1 lb Pizza dough Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 lb Ground beef Lean (85/15 or 90/10)
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning Plus water as directed on package
  • 1 can (16 oz) Refried beans Warmed slightly
  • 1/2 cup Taco sauce Or salsa
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese Shredded, or Mexican blend
  • 2 cups Romaine lettuce Shredded
  • 1 cup Cherry tomatoes Halved or diced
  • 1 cup Tortilla chips Crushed (or Doritos)
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream For drizzling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface or baking sheet to your desired thickness.
  • Optional: Pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes to ensure a crispier crust.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the excess grease thoroughly.
  • Stir the taco seasoning and water into the beef according to the package directions. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the liquid thickens.
  • In a small bowl, mix the refried beans and taco sauce together until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the pizza crust as the base sauce.
  • Top the bean layer with the cooked ground beef and shredded cheese.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
  • Top with cold ingredients: shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and crushed tortilla chips. Drizzle with sour cream before slicing and serving.
