Essential DIY Seasoning Mixes: Taco & Beef BBQ Rub

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp Dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Coarse black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard powder

Instructions
 

  • Gather two clean, dry glass jars with tight-fitting lids.
  • For the taco mix, whisk together chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and dried oregano in a small bowl. Transfer to the first jar.
  • For the beef BBQ rub, combine dark brown sugar, coarse black pepper, kosher salt, onion powder, and mustard powder in a separate bowl. Break up any sugar lumps with a fork. Transfer to the second jar.
  • Seal both jars tightly and store in a cool, dark pantry for up to 6 months.
  • To use, apply 1-2 tablespoons per pound of ground beef or steak before cooking.
