Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sour cream Full fat recommended for best texture
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Use a quality brand
  • 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese Freshly grated melts better, but pre-shredded works fine for a cold dip
  • 8 oz beef bacon Cooked until very crisp and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives Reserve a pinch for garnish
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 box crackers For dipping

Instructions
 

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled beef bacon, and chopped chives, reserving a small amount of beef and chives for garnish.
  • Cover tightly and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Garnish with the reserved beef bits and chives, then serve cold with crackers.
