Savory Roast Beef and Cheddar Twists

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz crescent dough
  • 8 oz deli roast beef
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp dried herbs
  • 0.5 tsp poppy seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean cutting board. Pinch the seams together firmly to create one large, seamless rectangle of dough.
  • Layer the thinly sliced deli roast beef evenly over the dough, followed by an even layer of cheddar cheese slices.
  • Fold the dough in half lengthwise over the fillings. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the filled dough into 8 equal-sized strips.
  • Carefully twist each strip 2 to 3 times and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving an inch of space between each one.
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, dried herbs, and poppy seeds. Use a pastry brush to coat the top of each twisted stick.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted. Serve warm.
