Southern-Style Baked Beans with Beef Bacon

  • 2 cans (28 oz each) Canned beef and beans Liquid drained
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Your favorite brand
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 1 Tbsp Yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3-4 drops Liquid Smoke Optional
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 5-6 slices Beef bacon Thick-cut, chopped into pieces

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Liquid Smoke (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  • Drain the liquid from the cans of beef and beans. Gently stir the drained beans into the sauce mixture until they are evenly coated.
  • Pour the bean mixture into a 2-quart baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Cut the thick beef bacon slices into bite-sized pieces and scatter them over the top of the beans.
  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until the sauce is bubbly, thickened, and the beef bacon on top is crisp.
