Instructions
Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl to create the glaze base.
In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef pieces in a single layer.
Sear the meat for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides.
Pour the glaze base over the seared meat in the skillet, reducing the heat to medium. Simmer for 2 minutes.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
Remove from heat. Serve immediately over cooked white rice, garnished with sliced scallions and sesame seeds.
