How to Make DIY Seasoning Blends: Taco, Ranch & Italian

Three Essential Pantry Seasoning Blends

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp Chili powder Base for Taco Mix
  • 1 tbsp Ground cumin For Taco Mix
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder Divided (0.5 tbsp for Taco, 0.5 tbsp for Ranch)
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder Divided (0.5 tbsp for Taco, 0.5 tbsp for Ranch)
  • 0.5 cup Buttermilk powder Base for Ranch Mix
  • 1 tbsp Dried parsley For Ranch Mix
  • 1 tbsp Dried dill weed For Ranch Mix
  • 2 tbsp Dried basil For Italian Mix
  • 2 tbsp Dried oregano For Italian Mix
  • 2 tbsp Dried thyme For Italian Mix
  • 2 tbsp Fresh rosemary Minced, for Rustic Blend
  • 1 tbsp Whole peppercorns For Rustic Blend
  • 3 whole Bay leaves For Rustic Blend

Instructions
 

  • Gather all dry ingredients and clean measuring tools.
  • For the Taco Seasoning: In a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, ground cumin, 0.5 tbsp garlic powder, and 0.5 tbsp onion powder until uniform.
  • For the Ranch Dip Seasoning: Combine the buttermilk powder, dried parsley, dried dill weed, 0.5 tbsp garlic powder, and 0.5 tbsp onion powder in a jar. Seal and shake vigorously.
  • For the Italian Seasoning: Stir the dried basil, dried oregano, and dried thyme together in a small container.
  • For the Rustic Blend: Crush the whole peppercorns and bay leaves using a mortar and pestle, then mix with the minced fresh rosemary.
  • Transfer all finished dry blends to airtight glass jars and store in a cool, dark pantry for up to 6 months. Store the fresh rustic blend in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
